What started out as a desire to adopt one child became an opportunity to adopt St Kizito. When the doors to bring home a child to care for were closed, a most random Google search 9 years ago divinely ushered us to the front door of an orphanage living out the call to love the least of those amongst us.

Our family has committed to CKI because we have been humbled by the love and sacrifice we have seen from everyone involved. We want to help provide a level of stability, hope, and security to a region often lacking these things.

We are honored to play a small part in loving these children through the extraordinary benevolent hearts of the Sisters.

GET INVOLVED

Our donors and supporters have engaged in many creative outreach and fundraising activities –
Here are some examples of how you can get started too!

1. Tell-A-Friend

This summer it's all about sharing your support for the children of eastern Congo. We are working to expand the Congo Kids Initiative family and hope you will share your interest with others this summer. It takes time to build community and the first step is to understand the need.

2. Book Clubs

CKI board member, Bryan Mealer, has written All Things Must Fight to Live, an illuminating portrait of Congo. Read, discuss, and get inspired to help support CKI. Buy it here.

3. Getting married or celebrating another milestone?

Share your support for shelter, health, and education by inviting friends and family to give in your honor to the children of St. Kizito by supporting CKI. If you need a special announcement for an event don't hesitate to let us know - we've got lots of examples and are happy to make one just for you (and we'd love to share your generosity on our blog and social media!)

4. Photographers,professional and aspiring!

Host a photoshoot for family, friends, and community members & donate proceeds to CKI. See our blog post about last year's photo event and design your own. Email us to brainstorm ideas!

5. Faith Based Communities

Use our downloadable materials and powerpoint to raise awareness and encourage support for the children of CKI's school, orphanage, and clinic for your gatherings.
